Most of the faulty batteries have been idle for a long period of time before being repaired. At this time, it is obviously meaningless to use the discharge test method. There is no electricity to discharge, and sometimes there is voltage, but it is also impossible to test. This requires a charging test, and finally judges whether there is a value for repair activation. This test method also has the meaning of trial repair.
Take a 6-DZM-10 battery as an example, start the live test to judge whether it is worth repairing. First use 15V voltage to charge the battery. After the power is connected, the power is turned on to detect whether there is a current passing through or a large current passing through, etc. The purpose of the test is to find the fault and formulate a repair and activation plan.
1) General current passes. That is, normal current flows through. When a normal battery is connected to a voltage of 2.3V in each cell, the internal resistance of the battery has a certain range, and the displayed current is between 0.5-1.5A, which varies with the battery capacity during the test.
2) There is a large current passing through it. Under the same voltage, the current passing through the battery is obviously increased or several times larger than the general current, which can determine that the battery has a single-cell short circuit fault. To determine which single cell is short-circuited, it needs to be charged to a certain capacity. Then discharge detection.
3) No current flows. Charging test at the same voltage does not mean that the battery has an open circuit fault. This is because some batteries have been short-circuited for too long, and after internal self-discharge, almost no sulfuric acid exists in the separator, and water is replaced. As the input voltage increases, it is not difficult to find that the ammeter fluctuates slightly. When the high voltage is charged and tested, it is found that the current value is slowly increasing. This kind of battery is a battery that has been left without charging for a long time and has a vulcanization failure.
As the input voltage continues to increase, there is no current response, even after adding liquid to replenish water, there is no current response. This is an obvious single-cell disconnection.
4) Epitaxy charging. To detect and determine which single cell battery is disconnected, the pole epitaxy method is also applied, the difference is that the epitaxy discharge is changed to the epitaxy charge.
