If there is no rise, inject water into the plate and use high-pressure water to wash away the contaminated lead powder on both sides. Use a voltmeter to check whether the voltage rises. If there is still no rise, it is a short circuit due to lead contamination of the plate separator.

The repair method for lead-contaminated short circuits on plate separators is to cut a large area to expose the entire Erg battery plate group, connect the voltmeter to the positive and negative busses, and separate each positive and negative plate in sequence. If you find that the voltage rises after one of the plates is separated, then the separator between the positive and negative plates is the pollution separator you are looking for.

The way to repair contaminated partitions is to add some partition material. If there are few lead powder contaminants, the voltage should be separated and repeated several times to eliminate the short circuit fault. The separator material can be recycled by dismantling the battery.

In the process of eliminating short circuit faults, be bold and careful and try to keep the plates intact. During the maintenance process, if it is found that the electrode plate is cracked and corroded, or if the positive plate is found to be softened, the activated desulfurization operation ends and a new battery needs to be replaced because there is no activation function. Plate cracking faults include pole lug and grid cracking faults.

When cutting a large area of a short circuit, it is necessary to reduce the number of cuts as much as possible and reduce the repair work progress.

The damage caused by a short circuit is not only leakage and discharge, but also the voltage is difficult to increase during charging and maintenance. The short circuit vulcanization of this kind of single-cell battery is very serious. Whether the repair is successful or not is related to the running status of the entire vehicle. When eliminating short-circuited pollutants, some are not just lead powder short circuits, but are connected by agglomerated lead matter. The so-called pollutants are dendrites.
